The Living Word

 

Course Description: An in-depth study of selected books of the Bible. Study follows an inductive method to 1) discern what the text says, how it is said, and its literary style and context; 2) grasp its meaning through analysis of the author's purpose, the religious, socio-economic and political context of the text, and the message and fundamental principles presented; and 3) apply the lessons for personal life change.

Objectives of the Course:

  • 1. To lead students to a deeper understanding of the Bible by doing in-depth study of the books of the Bible.
  • 2. To create an environment that focuses on a real and meaningful relationship with our God.
  • 3. To invite others into relationship with Him.

Curriculum:   The Bible, and selected commentaries and study guides.

To reinforce and practice the heart of Christian discipleship, we will begin each class time with focused prayer for individuals who are not in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Current focus:   Paul's letter to the Romans.
